Anyway, my thoughts on this topic are that I hate how generational divides keep being forced back into the discourse. Yeah it's funny, but then people take these and form real prejudices around them. I'm a millennial and fit none of those things, same with many other millennials. Eh, whatever makes people feel better about themselves.

I've seen all this from millenials, though. Hell, I had something of a career in doxxing people off of facebook, most of which were my age, and thus millenials themselves.

Millenials are certainly guilty of it, but there's a split between people who overshare and those who don't. When Google Plus had their privacy breached, I could run into random millennials in real life who were aware of it.
I think this is more of a landscape change, but is partially generational, too. Millennials are all over TikTok and Zoom despite privacy concerns, but at least some percentage are aware of that. You don't necessarily come off as strange for avoiding Zoom, even in a corporate setting.

Both girls we hired in the past year who were 22 both eventually got fired because of bullying and HR related shit. but we never had this issue with millenial girls who started here when they were around that same age few years ago

I agree a bit with them although they sound so obnoxiously condescending, but a lot of millenials would act more adult if only they had inherited a world that would let them. That buying a house and starting a family wouldn't have to be cost prohibitive for a lot of them, that getting married might be traumatic due to parents divorces. Maybe theyre jealous that this generation while poorer tries to have more fun than they did, can be open about their sexuality and refuse to be corporate slaves.

This is my thoughts exactly. To generalize anybody just based on the generation they were born in is stupid. I have a few friends that are "Zoomers" that are totally cool and don't act like this at all and think that people that do are stupid.

I also have friends that hit every single one of these points on the mark and they're cringe as fuck.

The point of it all is stupid though. Make fun of people deserving to be made fun of but don't just generalize an entire group based off of an age.

It's weird because I liked Gen X and boomers when I was growing up. I never had any concept of "insult 30, 40 year olds"... especially celebrity/entertainment culture

Unless the consumer culture is so vapid and rapid now that there's no time for teens and kids to form emotional attachments to things and thus look fondly back at them. Millennials got screwed hard. Finishing up college during the 2008 crash. Then when the economy finally got back into gear, 2020 crash happened.

Plus impossibly high student loan debt, completely unaffordable healthcare and housing.

They're, at least financially, the unluckiest US generation in at least a century, if not longer.

Yep. Economy has been a shitshow my entire life. STEM is over saturated as hell now too. I know I am lucky to have the job I have, still had shitty debt, but could still buy a house because the housing market in hadnt gone insane yet when I bought. The developers have been trying their damndest to make living in the city as expensive as possible though. If you make 60k here thats a shitload of money.
