...The real question is this: when will films catch up with video games like The Last of Us Part II?

In a medium where everything is John Wick, The Last of Us Part 2 is Schindler's List. And just like that film, there were times when I wasn't sure I could keep going. It is a relentless emotional assault that I suspect will force even the most jaded gamer to feel empathy.

The game is a work of art - every aspect feels crafted at the highest level. Visuals, audio, controls, animation, level design, performance. It is astounding. And frequently beautiful. With moments you NEVER find in video games. But I cannot overstate how harrowing it is.

It feels like 2 seasons of the darkest TV show you'll ever find, and it frequently better than most TV on the air. That's saying a lot. I think it is an IMPORTANT game. It tore me up, and I will never, ever forget it. The Last of Us Part 2 is a game that will change you. In short, The Last of Us Part 2 put me through hell. I did not enjoy it. I wasn't supposed to. I was affected by it. Like no game before. I am in awe of it. I am recovering from it.

These people want to destroy those of you who speak out and control the rest. You've seen them talk on twitter and tumblr, they will happily put you to death if they could and drink your tears while doing so. Video games is one front of a much larger war. It does not begin or end with video games and if you don't fight you are going to lose so much more than just a hobby. This is the end of the war, they have been winning it for years. Gamergate was a surprise resistance that popped up after our "forces" had been routed and slaughtered on the altar of social justice for decades. If you want to live in a world where some histrionic pampered brat and her sniveling cohorts can cry harassment and shut down entire websites then yeah sure do nothing just protect the vidya I guess. If that idea disgusts you then it is time to stand up if you haven't already and fight them on every level. Remember Shirtgate? Remember how they made a motherfucking scientist cry on what should have been the best day of his life? Over a shirt? It's not just about video games these people are monsters in human skin.

Fight them!

There was no enjoyment in the scene, story or what happened to the characters.

Meanwhile Sony is fucking censoring actual fun and sexy characters in videogames while letting full blown sex scenes that are in no way enjoyable, and in bad taste, into videogames.

Huge double standards are now showing and it's obvious what the people behind Sony's ethics department is trying to push.

If there was no censorship in the first place I doubt people would be riled up as much as they are now.

Obviously context decides what means what. A rape scene is meant to be horrifying. An educational sex scene (do sex ed classes actually show people having sex btw? I doubt it.) is meant to educate. A narrative sex scene of two lovers is meant to be titillating. Otherwise it wouldn't feel awkward to watch them in movies with your parents.
