I've only been doing my daily shit for the past like 3 weeks. My island looks like shit lmao anyone know if the rewards for the fishing tourney are the same as the last one?

No new items as far as I'm aware. I've gotten repeats from last time so far. But I only did the tourney enough times to get the silver trophy this time, since the points stacked from last time.

Oh thank God. I spent 4 hours last time getting the gold trophy. Glad I'm done with that lol

Oh good grief, I was over here being content with getting my nook miles for participating. Guess I'll have to put some more effort in the fall and winter tourneys.

Yep, 100 bronze 200 silver and 300 gold. Points carry over so you got at least two more to get them.

Is there any actual reason why they put the shit-tier beetles on Coconut trees? Were they afraid people would do with their island what they did to Tortimer's Island in NL? If so... thats really stupid.

I tried going to two islands to find rare beetles, but neither worked all that well. The first island only spawned Giant Water Bugs, the second I was lucky enough to get Bamboo Island in the rain, but after like 3 minutes the rain stopped. On the second I did manage to get a Horned Elephant though.

On the other hand I caught a Piranha, three Dorado, three Arowana and two Napoleonfish today during the Tourney. My first Arowana and Napoleonfish were back-to-back too.

Yesterday was the first time that Pascal didn't show up on my first scallop of the day. According to the New Horizons board, that makes me lucky.

most days he appears with the first scallop but the other day it took three before he showed up and i legit thought my game was bugged or something

Hmm, I was trying to see if I could tell the difference between mashing A vs just holding A but I couldn't tell. I always ended up just having to corner the isopods to catch them even when I mash A.

one method i've found that works pretty well is sneaking up on them. its kinda hard but basically just nudge your stick towards them, no tapping or holding A or anything, and if you go reeeeeeeeeeeally slow they dont react all that much, and then you can dive down pretty much directly on top of them, and even if you arent completely on top of them, it still takes them a second to start swimming away, so if you start mashing A in the direction you know theyre gonna swim you can grab it almost immediately

its just annoying to pull off cause you have to go REALLY slow in order for them not to detect you, otherwise they just kinda shuffle away as you sneak up on them. but even then you should still have enough time to at least get close enough to ambush them
