Life in general originated in the oceans. If you mean human life then yes. As for our species specifically there is some debate on this. It has always been thought we evolved in Africa about 200,000 years ago and then the whole Out of Africa migration about 50-60,000 years ago. But there is apparently some evidence suggesting we could be up to 400,000 years old and another theory that we didn't even evolve in Africa at all. We would need to do a whole lot more digging to get a better idea. Plus who knows how many fossils and other evidence was destroyed by people over the years by just planting crops or using bones for tools.

depends on what you consider then. Because slavery had a huge impact on latinos so a majority of latino countries have roots from Africa especially Caribbean and South American countries

If you label latinos as literally anything at all, be it white, black, brown, or anything else, youre ignorant.

Latinos come in every race imaginable due to complex racial mixtures, each latino country different from the last. I personally myself am a Puerto Rican with a white Puerto Rican mother and a black Puerto Rican father. My friends joke about me looking hispanic but if they were to look at my parents, they wouldnt say the same thing.

Surprise surprise, Latino is not a race of people. Its more about the culture.

A latinos race should be decided at an individuals level, identifying as white, black, or mixed accordingly. But saying that just because they come from an island or Mexico means theyre black is ridiculous.

Look at Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, and Tito Trinidad and tell me that theyre all the same race. Theyre not, lol. But theyre all Puerto Rican.

She put all Latinos under a single racial background. Most Mexicans for example don't have black ancestry and many in South America are pure caucasian.

You might be, but that doesn't go for all Latinos. I'm Honduran and obviously it is common for us to be completely mixed, but that also doesn't go for everyone. Different regions also have different racial breakdowns. She is obviously full of shit and trying to assume her Puerto Rican heritage speaks for all Latinos.

most Hispanics are mixed. Lots of mixes of many different races. There are few pure black or pure Asian Latinos. SJWs have been trying to make black Latinos a thing for the last couple years, but even they are mixed (mostly black, yes, but with a significant mix of native or even white).

you cant look at a Dominican and think he looks just like your average African-American or actual African.

Ricky Martin may look more white but who are you to decide what is in his DNA. He may still have a larger percentage of african lineage than JLo or Tito and outward appearance shouldn't be the only indicator. The fact remains that Puerto Ricans and other afro-latinos should accept the fact that being black is ingrained in our culture and that we are more than likely also descended from african slaves as well as indigenous people and spain. It's not about what you look like. It's about who you actually are.

Latin American is typically a language label. Portuguese and Spanish are two languages largely spoken in Latin America, and derived from Latin, hence the name

And Latinos are people who have roots in Latin America.
