it's not 2018 anymore, PoE has been getting worse with every league and their refusual to modernize trade and obsession with adding more currency to sell stash sours it fast. It's mechanically less fun than D3, It never lets you feel powerful like D2, and they still can't figure out how to make melee actually viable.

Once you grind long enough to have a teleporting Hammerdin it's super fun to go around and kill everything and be immortal.

correct, remember that whole big deal about D3 being always online? there was a reason or it. And given all of that has always happened in D2 and it still became immensely popular and the standard for all ARPGS to still be compared too. It didn't seem to alter others opinons.

like any 20 year old game, if you play it today you're going to notice the lack of some modern quality of life improvements that have come since. Without mods you're going to be locked into i think 800x600 resolution. But, there is a reason why it's still the game every arpg gets compared to it. The atmopshere is great, there's plenty of carrots to chance, there's less dialogue for blizzard to make a mess of. Each class is fun and viable and it's still my favorite version of a minion master nercro.

It's outdated. As much as I played it in the past, I can see many people being bored of it for their first time in 2020. Give it a shot if you're curious but you might want a couple single player mods like plugY for increased stash and online only items/events. Battlenet (the online) probably still runs like booty

They had synergy builds in the later patches to fix this. For example if I wanted my Blizzard spell to do more damage than I'd have to max out ice blast or some shit.

Yeah, which is why how'd specialize in those one or two skills. Get 'em to 20/20 and stuff up anything that synergized with 'em.
