When should polls close on election day? The cutoff time refers to when you reach the line to vote - if you are in line when the cutoff hits you would be allowed to vote.

7:00 PM has been the go-to in at least my state. Poll workers want to go home, election agencies need to start counting.

Just make everyone mail in their votes. There might be some small scale fraud, but I never trust those electronic counting machines. Too much potential for them to be tampered with.
