Isn't that just a normal walking speed? Ultimately doing what you're comfortable with is better than pushing yourself, so stick with what feels best.

It's extremely good compared to sitting on the couch. Just increase the speed steadily over time, add weightlifting and healthy eating habits, you'll be in great shape in no time.

It's relative...

If you weigh 400 lbs., it's fantastic.

If you're training for a marathon, you got a long way to go.

Cool, cool keep it up man. Another trick for treadmill running is to run a 2% incline to better simulate the additional resistance you'd experience running outside.

Eh you could stand to go a little bit more intense, but as an above poster already said, its relative to your fitness level already. Any work is good work though, keep it up.

Thats quite a bit faster than walking speed. Ordinary walking speed is somewhere between 2.5-3.5 mph, 3.5 being a brisk walk.

And yes, if you're doing this with a 4% incline that's probably, what, 150-200 extra calories you're burning a day? If you do it consistently you should be able to really accelerate your weight loss. Good on you, and try not to worry too much about comparing yourself to other people.

I thought the average was 5.0 mph.

Anyway, does the jogging motion stance burn more than walking?

Better than nothing. Probably all you really need in concert with dieting if you're just trying to lose weight. For improved cardiac health, you may want to slowly up the intensity.

Is the speed/number whatever thing on a treadmill universal?
I used to only be able to do 4 minutes of 10.0 and then 2 minutes of 13.0

I can't run for shit. I'm a short distance sprinter. Not a long distance jogger.

It's better to do HIIT cardio.

30 seconds at your fastest speed you can maintain, then walking speed resting for 60 seconds.

Repeat that interval 5 to 8 times.

The workout will take 15-20 minutes, depending on how many intervals and how long your rest periods are.

For me, my interval setting on the treadmill is 12mph at sprinting speed for 30 seconds, followed by the walking "rest" speed of 2.5mph.

If you want extra juice, go at a gradual incline.

Of course its good man, thats 30 minutes of exercise so good job there. That said, Id consider anything lower than five more of a walking pace, so just slowly work your way up. But if youre going at a higher incline then Im not quite sure.

again, it all depends. Just keep doing what youre doing and as long as you get your heart pumping without going overboard youre going in the right direction.
