I've oft wondered why these aren't a thing yet. I just replaced a one year old tire bc it got a sidewall puncture, which is apparently impossible to repair.

I dont know why they wouldnt want it to go on the market. The tread can still easily wear, and cause unsafe conditions and require a replacement. The tire it self can become damaged and need to be replaced.
I can see it lasting a lot longer than a standard tire, or have specialized use. But it wouldnt replace the need for regular tires --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

The tread will eventually wear out tho. Not like this is making tires obsolete.

I remember seeing these like ten years ago. Would've saved us a lot of time and money when I was deployed if they were available. We were getting blowouts all the time on these African trails we drove on.
