Again, just assuming Covid is an automatic death sentence when more studies have shown the survive to kill rate is Super skewed towards the survive column.

Okay but would you rather have no risk of dying or a small risk of dying (and possibly lingering symptoms)?

This is the study many articles making similar claims cite:

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamacardiology/fullarticle/2763524?resultClick=1.

The article you posted is citing a study that's "not complete", so we'll talk about the study I just showed you, and so far it's the only one I can find where they measured "lasting effects"... Everyone with lung damage was really old and most of them already had complications. Even within the study they don't mention "permanent" damage, as in you know it's only been months if not only weeks at the time of the study. This was done in China. So, pay attention to the wording in the NS link you posted.... 15% to 20% of people that needed INTENSIVE CARE....which is like 3% of people that contract the virus...15 to 20% of THAT are having problems 3 months down the line. These are not turn off your life, never leave the house numbers. I'm sorry, they just aren't, at least not to me.

So idk it looks silly to me when people claim that you're "risking your life eating at a restaurant" and it's like...well, that's for them to decide. I really don't think it's as risky and stupid as you are claiming.

So it's a small percentage of the worst cases. To me, this does not seem out of the ordinary for viral infections like say...the flu in January on the elderly population. But this is my opinion based on data.

I'm of the belief that if you can protest in mass in the streets than there should be zero complaining about eating in a restaurant.

Because it's a shitty attempt at a "gotcha!"

Moaning about not being able to get your hair cut or go out to a shitty fast casual restaurant =/= protesting/marching for the rights of marginalized people

Most people participating in such events have been exceptionally diligent with best practices like wearing mask

no shit Sherlock. The argument of what is more important: eating pasta or advocating for human rights is a no brainer. Youre preaching to the choir on that one.

however, take ownership of the risk involved in those protests. Thats the argument. Saying shit like welp they all had hand sanitizer so the rona is not a concern is a dumb as fuck argument.

look: Ill make that same shit argument about Olive Garden and you tell me if you buy it.

hey guys, went to Olive Garden today. My group and I all wore masks til we got to the table. Had hand sanitizer, wait staff all wore masks, perfectly okay!

because that is the exact same argument you just gave for the protests.

so yea, dont try and argue that protests are more important, no fucking shit. Argue that they are worth the risk. Dont fucking argue that nobody gets the rona at the protests, thats dumb as fuck too.

just fucking say: hey look guys, youre right its a mass gathering, corona is a serious risk, but by damn its for human rights and its worth it.

id respect you a hell of a lot more then trying to say they arent a risk.
