It is about money really from the corporate side; that is the only reason why they're appealing to extremist end of the social movements, but also in a way the social movements get devalued.
They're being used as useful idiots to boost up their profits; they don't care if they tarnish something to get what they want. I no longer trust corporations like Disney, Funimation, etc. They been trying to go after VIZ Media to insert their bullshit, but so far they have failed (AFAIK).
