CO gets 80million tourists a year, there aren't any quaint small towns in the mountains

I lived in a town of 4000 people at the end of a valley... 8/10 houses were unoccupied mansions for all but one week of the year

I was thinking of moving to Utah. The cost of living and housing cost in many parts arent crazy, it's a outdoor state with numerous activities to match. The geography is gorgeous and they get all 4 seasons.

Perfect weather for most days like in CA in nice but gets somewhat repetitive and old in my opinion.

Went hiking in Utah last year and it was incredible. Dont know the cost but I could see that being a great one

Personally I love NC. Close to the beaches and mountains, tons of hiking and a ton of lakes to choose from. Cost of living is very low for the most part. We have a 4000 sq ft house with a mortgage thats the same as a 2 bed room apt

Eh I moved to UT from CO and it's not the same.

There's something about it I can't put my finger on. It's the black sheep of mountain states. A large portion of it is salt flat desert wasteland. Half the population is religious people. The mountains are just one skinny line of mountains.

8/10 state. I go to WA, MT, CO, NM and I'm like "damn this is cool" and Utah is like "hey... neat"

No traffic, no tourists, and cheap though

For UT I can only comment on Salt Lake City and Park City (like an hour away from SLC, where the 2000 Winter Olympics were held). The Park City area is awesome.

Right now? Nowhere.

But I always thought if I were going to just start my whole life over, Utah would be a good pick. Mostly because of location. I can go further West than North, South or East and I wouldn't really want to go to the coast.

That depends on what you like and want access to. Most of the West/Mid West has absolutely excellent outdoor locations, if you're big on hiking, biking, mountain climbing, snow boarding, etc. Or if hunting is your thing, Pennsylvania and Colorado are very much into it, if you can handle the cold.

I really love all of Saratoga County in New York. Spitting distance from the Adirondacks, downtown Saratoga is full of life, tons of farm land if you just want to be alone. It's got every kind of place to live in one small package. It does have it's fair share of Trump supporters, it isn't full blown red but it's not blue either, but none of the obnoxious Trump supporters. They wear masks, they social distance, and I have heard nothing about anyone screaming white power.

Ya I live in long beach and for what I pay it's REALLY nice, I'm like a 5 min walk to the beach and have a huge 2 bed 2 bath with roommates for 2k/month

But I also lived in a rly ghetto part like 10 years ago and the rent there was like 800 but there were regular drive bys and swat raids lmao
