Cam signed a 1 year with the Pats for the league minimum. $1.05 million. With incentives, it can get to over $7 million.

First, Cam hasn't been Cam for a few seasons now.

this. if any other team offered him more $15 million he would have took it. hell any time that offered him $5 million he would have took it. not like the patriots with him are a real title threat. it's just trying to redeem himself this year. if he plays well then next year he could get a decent contract.

he's coming off an injury and no teams can eveluate players like normal with covid so no teams wanted to take a chance and belichick was just able to get him to sign on a min deal. so no risk to them if he fails.

Goes to show you how much black oppression is still prevalent in the NFL, read i.e Kaepernick and Michael Bennett what they have to say and no Bill Bilicheck is not innocent he is the one the pervasive offenders in this regard. I hope they sue the shit out of the Patriots man

In a vacuum it does seem ridiculous but the QB market was weird this year. The teams with cap space either have or drafted a young QB or have an entrenched starter.

I dont like the incentive ridden deals (they are great for the team) but a contract like that influences the player to play a certain way and maybe that can hurt team chemistry. If the patriots are eating and cam isn't hitting his goals because they are playing a more conservative or less risky way hes not going to be happy despite team success

A scum organization like the pats would probably purposely make sure he doesn't hit those incentives while still winning

Basically this. Cam is definitely underpaid but it is mostly a result of the current QB market. If Cam can put in a good year he'll get paid proper next season.
