That's why I can't cook lobster or crab, I feel like if I ordered it, or someone made it for me I'd be fine. But I just can't do it.
I know it's stupid, because I'd be eating it anyways, but it's just such an awful way to go.

I do care. Throwing it alive in a boiling pot is cruel. But Im not able to knife it in the head myself. So I never have used live lobster.

Roaches are the enemy of man, but we go out of our way to eat lobsters. The least we could do is not boil them alive. I mean, I don't boil roached alive, either.

Respecting an animal is sign of respect.

Don't eat seafood, but I can't say I actually care about the particular animal I eat. I'd just rather have knowledge that the grand majority of animals are slaughtered humanly. All that shit needs to change.

I read something recently that explained how lobsters don't die of old age, they basically just keep getting bigger and bigger until it is no longer physically possible for them to molt and they either crush themselves inside their own exoskeleton or die from bacterial infection from staying in the same shell too long

It's still up for debate, but the fact being is that they do not technically have a brain, but more a system of nerves. Without a brain, they lack any kind of consciousness, thought, or feelings, so any concept of feeling bad for them being thrown into a boiling pot is essentially pointless. There is no suffering without a consciousness of existence, It's more like those Roomba vacuums, it senses a wall is there so it stops before colliding with it, but are you gonna cry if you drop it in a tub of water and say "oh no, it's suffering!"

Lobster tail is best served boiled in seawater. It is even better when the lobster is still alive: the fear adds spice. >_>

Apologies on the late reply, but yes. Knife point straight down, then slice towards you..its quick and painless. Even something that was bred to be consumed, it still doesnt deserve to be cooked alive.

And without the lemon and butter it is bland and nearly tasteless imo. Grilled doesnt need the lemon or butter, but if used they only make it better.
