God I wish I could interview people, at least then we wouldn't be getting so many morons who can't take simple instructions. Literally had one guy who nearly electrocuted another co-worker by not telling them there was a frayed wire in one of our machines. Blew out the outlet as well. I usually won't call people with a felony or criminal history. Full completion of the application is very important. So many apps I get are full of blanks and it feels like they were either overlooked and that person is lazy, or they don't want to answer. Put n/a or "will discuss in person" and I respectfully oblige. I don't care about your hobbies, or that you are "hard working and reliable". Tell me your actual skills, I can type fast, i'm active in social media, proficient in Word and Excel, etc. Stuff that matters for the position you are applying for. No experience at all isn't a bad thing, hiring someone who never had a job usually means they are very trainable and listen to instructions early on. A lot of people with a lot of background cling onto what they did before at their old job. "The way I used to do it at my old job..." I don't care, we do it this way here.
