no. mammals would probably be a niche thing still. the elimination of the dinos is what gave mammals a chance to flourish . I think it's more likely that maybe one of the dinosaurs might have evolved to be smarter.

I do like dino docs, which is why I believe that no, we wouldn't have. So much of the evolution that lead to us only happened after the extinction event. It's extremely unlikely you'd get the same species out of two drastically different environments.

It's hard to say, the strongest species isnt always the biggest or strongest but the ones able to best adapt. So likely humans or whatever we were then would have thrived and survived regardless.

I mean, banding together I cant think of very many creatures even back in the prehistoric ages that humans couldnt either kill, defend against, or simply avoid once we learned to harness fire and utilize sharp objects.

Dinosaurs may have evolved into an intelligent species similar to us.

We woul never evolved but not simply because the dinos. It's the environment, global climate, the food chain itself. Dinos being gone are just one strand in the clusterfuck rope of casualty that caused the world today being what it is.

The thing is that we'd never get to the point of intelligence to be able to thrive in the first place. Like, yes, clearly the intelligence meta is the best, but we took tens of millions of years just to get to the earliest apes, and that was only with big dinos out of the way, and new flora branching out.

Dinosaurs existed for millions and millions of years. They never evolved to be smarter. They probably weren't going to. Humans wouldn't exist if the asteroid didn't hit the Earth. Mammals would probably remain burrowing creatures like moles.

Dinosaurs didn't need to be smarter. What they were doing was working just fine.

Humans evolved in an extremely harsh climate that required the brain capacity for thought, planning, and language.

No one knows this for sure. And there are countless species already who thrive still surrounded by predators so this assumption that humanitys evolution would have peaked at some point becuase of dinos is unlikely.

The environment has changed numerous times throughout history with or without human intervention. Some areas grew a little hotter, or colder, turned into deserts, some tundras, some frozen, some were flooded, and many others flat out destroyed. But humans regardless still managed to adapt, evolve, and survive in everyone of them.
