Doubt it

No, seriously. It had this Bethesda-contrarian hype and delivered literally nothing.

Lazy lazy lazy characters, pitiful black and white "r u gud or bad?" choices, far FAR worse gunplay than even the clunkfest Bethesda games its supposed to be killing, the most unbelievably easy difficulty (Starting on hardest difficulty gives you about 30 seconds of almost difficulty, then its back to marshmallows. This is with me never leveling weapons up at ALL because I like to actually shoot more than one shot per enemy.), uuugly visuals, empty worlds with nothing to see or explore.....whats there to like? I mean really. Whats one thing that game put any effort into?

the ship rumour log works really well, if it says there's more then there's more. sometimes you may need tips/advice from elsewhere to know where to look though

there's a lot of places to check out, if you get frustrated over a specific place I recommend just going somewhere else instead of getting more and more annoyed trying to force it

Outer Wilds is really good but only if you're into games like it, that sort of just drop you into the middle of things with zero direction. It's like a 21st Century Myst.

Its not really that theres no direction. Like sure theres not an overarching goal, at least not yet. But it seems to me its very clear what to do. Its just that theres so much and i can pick anything i want. Its a bit like subnautica

Oh no, I don't mean that the game itself has no direction, I mean it gives you no direction. In the end, they're definitely are goals, but it expects you to find them through observation. It reminds me a lot of Myst.

At least it tells you to go find the other explorers, who are all missing, using a tracking device. The game doesn't offer a story really until you start uncovering it. I get what your saying, I agree with your setiment. The direction is all there, you just have to piece things together. It rare that I'm truly amazed at a game. Even though the story is sort of lame to me I really enjoy the organic process of discovering it.

How did you get to the quantum moon so early? That was one of the last things I figured out.
Was wondering this too, and was part of the end stretch that I needed guides to figure out lmao

I tried landing on it a couple of times normally and figured i must be missing something. I Launched a probe and started spamming photos cause i wanted to try observing the moon as it disapeared to see if that revealed any new info. But i ended up landing on it instead

This kind of emergent puzzle solving and totally nonlinear progression is why I loved it so much. Well done lol.

i did end up going to giants deep yesterday, was pretty cool learning about the guy there. I went into the quantum tower and ended up learning that which i already figured out myself earlier. I wasnt able to finish the final trial though so i gotta head back for that and the other islands.

I tried Ramming into the planet at 2000m/s to try and get through the currents but had no luck. I tried at 5000m/s but i kept missing the planets core and gave up. I also tried getting below the island once its picked up by a tornado to let it "hammer me in" to beneath the currents but i ended up getting trapped and restarting. I might just explore the other islands first before thinking about getting to the planets core

You have a fun mindset just like Living Sun but you need to explore and/or play around more before you'll figure out the right method.

oh yeah, one other thing i tried was Chasing that probe that is launched at the start of every loop. I did actually catch up to it once and managed to get a good look at it, but i couldnt find a way to interact with it.

im thinking this time loop is probably created for a purpose by the nomai. To find the eye of the universe? Is it really just a coincidence that the loop starts with the probe launch, that the direction is random (the only thing ive found in the game thats random other than quantum stuff), and that they dont care about the canon itself? Although i dont know why they wouldnt just fire many probes instead of this time loop and firing just 1 every time, so ive probably got the wrong idea. I wonder if whats his face on giants deep will be more important later since hes also aware of the time loop
