Ugh dude don't even get me started. Last night my friend had a big karaoke setup rigged in his back yard. I was looking forward to it all night cuz we haven't done it since last Fall in his basement, due to quarantine.

When the kids at the party discovered the mics were on, all they did was scream and shout into them, like 2 hours before anyone even tried doing karaoke. Then when we actually went to do it, late at night, the kids wouldn't give their mic up, so they just shouted over everyone and made fart noises the entire time.

Worst part was that I queued up "America Fuck Yeah" to sing, and my buddy was like "Oh we can't do that while the kids are still here". Fucks sake. It was almost 11pm at that point. Put them to bed already! Ughhh.

I know I cant do it. I have a 2 year old niece. I enjoy spending time with her but man... I played with her for hours and as soon as I said I want to take a break and started to leave.. She started bawling and begging me to stay and keep playing. I wasnt leaving the house. I just needed some me time and it turned crazy. I cant deal with giving attention 24/7. This happened this morning btw lmao

Children can be great. I have a 7 year old daughter and my fiancee has an 8 year old who I'm essentially a dad to.

I could never stand being around my nieces and nephews for too long, but now that I have my own its not too bad. My gaming has cut down considerably, but thats about the only con so far.

Some of my girlfriends sisters let their kids stay up to as late as 2-3 in the morning and just dont care. I dont get it. Plenty of folks should just really not have kids if they dont give a fuck about taking care of them beyond the absolute basics.

Its actually the opposite for me. Most of my life growing up Ive done things for others. For my parents, brothers, friends, etc. Ive always put my needs and wants off just to make others happy. Ive been taken advantage of so many times from family, classmates and coworkers because if this. So I decided to say F everyone else and become more selfish

Tbh I feel like the fairest solution would've been to keep the mics turned off until it was karaoke time, then do an hour for the kids, have them go to bed or go do something else, and then let the adults have their fun.

That way everyone wins
