Anyone here get one? I need to get one for an upcoming surgery, and I was curious. How far do they stick the swab up your nose, and is it very uncomfortable?

I'm someone whos gone through surgeries my entire life and I can tell you the COVID test was one of the most uncomfortable things I have ever experienced.

I don't get why they can't get a sample from a shallower location or... like a mouth swab or something.

The main reason I'm more nervous about the test is that it'll be the first time I've had a swab shoved up my nose, whereas this will be my second surgery. Discomfort more than pain, but its hard to differentiate considering how far they stick it up your nose

It hurts going and and even more coming out. They count to 15 and it goes by pretty quick. You're definitely going to shed a tear when they pull it out, but the pain goes away quickly. Nothing to be too shook over
