I went to the dentist the other day, they were extra careful. I don't know about your dentist or where you live, but I felt safe being there.

Stop being so paranoid, they sterilise everything you come into contact with, the only problem could be if you like to lick every wall you see.

this. dentist is probably one of the safest places to be. the actual rooms will be sterile. the only issue might be the waiting room but i'm guessing they probably have someone sterilizing that too. i just wouldn't really be touching stuff. like don't read a random magazine or anything while you wait but i'm guessing they'll probably have you wait in your car till it's time. they're probably spacing out appointments more than normal to give time to sterilize between paitents.

Thats not the SOP. UV light is used.

I went to the dentist a couple of weeks ago, somebody sneezed in the waiting room and everyone tensed up. Man life is crazy now.

I haven't been since the virus started going around. I missed a cleaning, and have a cavity to be filled. They told me they'd be able to do these in July, but now I got to get a new pacemaker, and I figure I should wait a couple weeks after that to get any dental work done.

My dentist allows no one in the waiting room. You have to stay in your car and call the office, then someone will come out and take your temp and ask you some questions before taking you straight to the exam room.
