Imagine having such a weak candidate that you're scared Kanye would take votes away from him.

Also Black people are not a monolith. Maybe the Democratic party should consider trying to earn votes instead of feeling entitled to them just because they aren't the other guys.

conservatives:
"blacks who vote liberal are brainwashed!"
"blacks who vote conservative are free-thinkers!"

weird how "free-thinker" always seems to mean 'agree with me'
Literally everyone does the free thinker thing.

What's the deal with notaries anyway?

"Here's a thing I signed."
"Come back when you have proof that someone watched you sign it."
"How do I prove that?"
"Have them sign it too."
Notaries are there as an impartial fraud deterrent, to make sure the person signing a document is actually the person that should be, and that they aren't signing legal documents under duress or without understanding what it is they're signing.

I find it interesting that it's commonly on the Democratic party to be better, but the Republican party caters to white supremacists, neo-nazis, and the like and we're just supposed to shrug our shoulders and accept it.

Both parties need to do a hell of a lot better.

Does anybody understand what they're signing, pretty much ever?

But more to the point, who notarizes the notary's signature, and considering that it's nobody, how does the whole concept even hold up?

What does this even mean? Why do morons act like democrats dont introduce and push legislation or advocate for social change? My local democrat officials are very connected with the community and work hard at outreach and transparency. I get frequent timetables and itineraries on what theyre working on, as well as open forums for community discussions, particularly online since the pandemic started. The local republicans work very hard at obfuscation and disenfranchisement behind closed doors. They havent passed a budget in way too long because they keep trying to hold secret votes, hoping that not enough democrat legislators show up to stop them. We have a guy on chemo dragging himself in.

Notaries are licensed by the state they're in, I believe. And notaries aren't tasked with understanding the paperwork they're signing. They're attesting to the the fact that you are you who say you are and verifying that your signature on the document(s) is legitimate.

Kanye is only going to take away votes from republicans who hate Trump but hate Democrats more.

Don't know why anyone cares any what he's doing and he won't even be on the ballot in many states as their deadlines have passed.

Yeah, this isn't it.

Reason people think Kanye will take votes from Biden is that black people who don't know better see "Oh, a black guy running for president? I'll vote for him" because most of us aren't voting for Trump, especially after how he's reacted to the whole BLM movement not even talking about the past month, but like all the way back to football, and the famous "Good people on both sides" statement. Whereas there are also black people who saw "Old white guy, another old white guy, or guy who looks like me". Democrats don't feel entitled to our votes, it's rather that Kanye himself is Trump's buddy.

They are in charge with the finalization of that document and responsible for their seal

We're also seeing Republicans actively argue against civil rights issues time and time again.

Mail in voting
Voter suppresion through gerrymandering and laws that are obvious attempts at making it harder for certain people to vote under the guise of "voter ID" issues
Gay marriage

Then you've got the KKK, white supremacists, neo-nazis and the like proudly waving confederate flags, voting for the Republican party, demonizing liberals and minorities in general for a myriad of "reasons."

Black people and the KKK, for obvious reasons, are always going to be diametrically opposed. However, it's interesting that the question is always "Why do Black people vote Democrat" and never "Why does the KKK vote Republican?"

Republicans beat the "personal responsibility" drum until it's time for them to take personal responsibility. Then they don't accept any responsibility at all.

The licensing by the state is essentially the notarization of the notary's signature.

I ran a RPG once where the players were trying to push some paperwork through a fairie court and after they got through the minister of paperwork inspection they had to get the inspection inspected by the minister of inspection inspection and when they attempted to point out this would never finish the fairies were like "yeah I have a huge backlog of work"
