Like they really don't know what they want, they stroll in, learn about cars from the salesman, test drive, buy without checking other dealers, and leaving...

I can't believe these people exist. But thank you to these people, for subsidizing my car that I buy.

Yeah probably.

I kinda have before, but it was not so much "don't know what I want" as "have $X000 to spend."

Which as it turns out, left me with one option. It's been a great car, too.

That's the mindset I had buying my first car I brought in 2014 and only finished paying off a few months ago. Fortunately it's always run great and has served me well.

Some people don't wanna shop around cause they are lazy.

If I know what I want I just walk in with the intend to buy it.

If you wait around you could lose out. This happened to me with a used car I wanted. Houses are the same.

I kind of did this, went off the recommendation of a coworker to buy a Genesis Coupe when my first car got totaled. Was a dumb decision, though it was actually a fun car to drive while I had it.

Learned from that mistake and definitely take more time now in choosing which car to get, plus I have more experience with dealerships so I know which ones to immediately turn and walk away from when the dealer tries to pull some stupid game and waste my time.

I won't ever buy from a small town again. They didn't even wanna negotiate with me. Like not even taking $100 off the price. I was like fine with the mindset since I'm helping a small town but I'm sure they have some room to play with. In the city I'd easily get $1000 or more knocked off the price. My next car if they don't even bother to negotiate with me I'll take my business else where. The manager literally said to me if I bring in 5 other people to buy cars he'll give me a better deal. He was pretty rude in a sense.

Same I lost out on a last gen Audi A6, it was the all wheel drive version. Only 2 years and low mileage 17,000. Was actually looking to see if the bank would do me a better deal than the finance at the dealership. It was gone the next week.

As someone who works for an auto finance company, the answer is yes. And even more people either don't read the contract or don't care.

Nobody goes home and reads the contract for something minor or terms of agreement when installing something. Same thing when buying a house. Typically the chance of a customer going back to the dealership and saying "Oh I read this entire thing over last night I wanna revise this" will usually end with "We can't change this since it's setup by the corporation." Either sign it or gtfo usually.

When finishing off the deal people will at times negotiate not wanting to pay some fees like admin fees. Some dealerships will waive it and others won't. They offered me protection for the seats for extra and I declined all the extra shit.
