That guy everyone hates walks by and you go "Hey, where is everyone?" and he replies "Hmmm? Oh they're all at [Your best friend's name]'s wedding. They invited me but I just have too much work to do. That and I can't be bothered." You assume s/he's lying since you never heard anything about it but one quick look at your social media informs you s/he is not. Kinda happened to me actually, only I found out later afterwards I believe. That or I knew ahead of time but was never invited.
