Bump. Whats shorter/easier between SMRPG and earthbound?

and also Ive played the intro stage to MMX once or twice. Is it me or do the controls feel kind of... stiff? The running jumping and shooting all feel kind of off

SMRPG is both shorter AND easier. It's occasionally called 'babby's first RPG' for a reason.(and I don't mean that as a bad thing)

The game gets much more fast-paced and exciting once you gain the ability to dash, which is the staple ability of the MMX series and one of the biggest things that differentiates its gameplay from the original series. The first game is unique that you have to get the ability as an upgrade while all the sequels have you start with it as default.

Decided to do MMX followed by SMRPG, and then revaluate after that.

im aware about the dash mechanic (do chill penguin first!) but like, even the gravity of the jump feels weird. Maybe Im not remembering it properly but even a max height jump feels too low and he drops down way too fast. Either way Im gonna play MMX so I guess its just going to be something I need to get used to

Just beat the intro stage. Controls/physics arent as bad as I remember them being. Also, is it weird that on PlayStation consoles I use X for jump and Square for attack, but it feels weird on Nintendo consoles so I use A for jump and B for attack?

i found the sub tank in Storm Eagles stage, how do I use it? Also damn lol this music reminds me of that one ScrewAttack youtube channel

If you have full health any health capsules you pick up will automatically transfer to the sub tank. You can use them to replenish health if you need it.

when I go to the weapon select screen it doesnt even allow me to hover over the subtank. Only the big section with all the weapons+escape

The game doesn't let you hover over the subtanks if they're completely empty and can't be used. That's perfectly normal.

Beaten Chill Penguin, Storm Eagle and Spark Mandrill. Spark Mandrill was hard af. Got the Legs and Head armor, as well as the hidden Heart tank and Sub tank in Storm Eagles stage, with some help. Gonna do Flame Mammoth next to get the Arm part, and then wing it from there.

beat all 8 Mavericks and got all the upgrades. Onto the Wilys castle equivalent of the X games. Chill Penguin, Boomer Kwanger were definitely the easiest of the bunch. Id say Launch Octopus and Armored Armadillo were the hardest, but no one was hair-pullingly frustrating
