Do you actually believe him when he says he "accidentally" shot him by while transferring the gun from one hand to the other?

33 y/o Egg Shaped Head Officer, Calvin Saylers from Little Rock, Arkansas is chrged with MANSLAUGHTER after threatening to SHOOT any PROTESTER who comes at his door..but ironically shot his FELLOW OFFICER who knocked on his door to pick up a vehicle and killed him!!

He surrendered himself on Wednesday after shooting and killing 36 y/o Officer, Scott Hutton as Scott went over to his house to pick up a patrol vehicle. He texted him writing "are you awake" and when he got no response, he knocked on the front door as Salyers was apparenty watching a movie with his g/f, Ashlee Cummings when suddenly he grabbed a handgun when seeing a "figure" on his porch wearing a dark shirt with a gun on his hip.

He told investigators that his gun "went off" when he TRANSFERRED it from his right to his left hand and reached for the doorknob as it shot directly through the door and that's when he saw Hutton fall to the floor

He called 911 and said "All i seen was a gun, it was an accidental discharge"

When police arrived, they found Hutton and gave him CPR and was quickly taken to hospital where he died

A judge set bail at only 15,000 and he was released later that day

A man who answered the number for Salyers said it wasn't him as he was not speaking to media

A training sgt, Matt Wharton said Salyers had told him at the beginning of the protests since the death of George Floyd that he would SHOOT any protester through the door if they dare stepped on his property because it was LEGAL to shoot anybody you felt was an "intruder"

When he told him he can't do that because it be reckless and negligent and said you can't shoot anybody first without identifying them and confirming a threat, Saylers IGNORED that

He's been an officer, soon to be inmate, since 2017.

Do you believe him when he said he killed his fellow officer by "accident" after transferring the gun from one hand to the other?

You mean he deliberately gunned down a fellow cop? Would you like to share the motive with the rest of the class?

And keep in mind he shot *through* the door. If you're going to kill somebody, you usually don't want to damage your own shit in the process. Especially since, if it was deliberate, he could have opened the door then shot the cop. Or left the door unlocked and shot him inside when he walked in, which would give him greater plausible deniability.

There is no reason (at this time) to believe he knew who was on the other side of the door.

The scenario presented seems to indicate this man intentionally shot someone with out identifying them or their intentions with that person doing nothing to justify it. Unless you're trying to pick apart the meaning of "accident" but I refuse to accept the discharge of the weapon to be accidental and that is what I mean I believe the gun to have been intentionally fired at an unidentified individual.

Protestors through the door. That would require knowing it was a protestor. And how would he know? Unless there was a mob or guys with signs, by asking who's there. More generally, though, protestors typically don't just knock on doors while traveling alone anyway. There's very little chance he could believe it to be a protestor. And if he doesn't believe it's a protestor, that previous statement (which just sounds like tough talk anyway) goes out the window.

Thats the whole point. Did you read the article? Heres what they said in response to him saying what he said:

The whole point was that he couldnt know. And it seems likely that he just assumed... So, it seems more likely that it wasnt an accident...

It doesnt though. He already said he would shoot through the door. That mostly likely means he would shoot without identifying them first. It cant go out the window since he did exactly what he said he would...

accidental discharge

Accidental discharge and negligent discharge are two different things. I'm 99 percent sure this was the latter. Most likely he had the safety disengaged, and doesn't have much practice with trigger discipline using his left hand. He put the gun in his left hand, gripped it wrong, gun went off. Assuming I take him at his word it wasn't intentional.
