I didn't like what I've played of it (~10-15 hours), but I still feel that it's worth checking out for yourself.

there's combat and story, but the bulk of the game will be transporting cargo from one location to another.

you start off my having to walk, but you'll be able to unlock other modes of travel.

Yes, but it's a hard recommendation. The story sucks balls and if you just streamlining the "main game" it could be pretty bland. However, if you do get into making deliveries, expanding the network and building things, it can be very enjoyable. I wasn't feeling the game at all until I was able to start building roads and that became my sort of main goal. Then I moved on to ziplines and put a bunch of time into making my own system to make deliveries easier and faster.

I'd say it's worth trying if you think you'd like a weird delivery man sim game with a bunch of sci-fi supernatural elements. But you might not even know if it's for you until 10 hours in.

Probably should note that the game picks up and really begins after ch3. A lot of people gave up before that. The first two chapters are great at establishing the setting but ch3 is when the gameplay kicks it up a notch and you get more equipment. The enemies are actually pretty intelligent which not a lot of people point out.

I'm going to say no. I liked it, but no.
The world feels very empty and while you don't exclusively walk, you do that for the majority of the game. There are plenty of obstacles that prevent you from driving everywhere but it's not impossible to get around on wheels.

What I liked the most about it is that even if you don't see other people (much) you're all working together to apply improvements to the world. I'd like to give more details about this but I don't want to spoil anything.

The combat was fine. I found it rewarding because you get materials to help you build objects but the combat itself doesn't change that much throughout the game. Or at least my tactics didn't require many adjustments.

If you have a lot of podcasts to catch up on and want to play something while you do so, then this is a great game for that.

Is this aspect of the game something that would be diminished if you dont play close to day 1? Like everything will already be built up and you lose that aspect of helping each other out?

It is a very niche game with a triple A budget and the story is directed very well, but overall the story isn't great

I don't think anyone really knows how the multiplayer aspect actually works when it comes to time yet. Some of your shit will diminish over time, like a ladder might get destroyed in 5 days but I logged in after a few months of taking a break and most of, if not all, the bigger constructs were still intact. Everything I built was intact as well. I'm not sure if you're committed to your instance for a long period of time or if it recycles you into a more active one either.

Yes, it is one of the best games of the generation.

Just don't rush it, take your time in the areas getting upgrades and improving the roads once you get them. I think people ruh

And the story is great, although the pacing of how it's delivered could be improved. But the world and lore Kojima made are awesome, and Mads' performance is one of the best I've ever seen in a game.

Yeah, if you can deal with the gameplay. Its a hard game to explain. You gotta deal with balance, with stealth, there isn't a LOT of combat early on but combat can be beneficial if you feel you can take it.

The feeling of community, though. That's another level. Building roads, supporting others, making bridges, making safe places to rest. Over time you'll find fun routes to make, make zipline systems from one side of the world to another, integrate other players objects into a unique path of travel.

In the end it's just a different cup of tea. But it's a good one, imo.
