I still remember how blown away I was coming to it from IE

We take all its features for granted nowadays

It's still a really great browser, despite Mozilla's best efforts to annoy and alienate its users.

I'm with you there, tc. God, I had so many ridiculous extensions. And the SMB3 theme.

Yeah. The newest versions removed the dropdown arrow from the address bar that showed your most frequent websites.

The only reason to use Firefox is no-script. And Mozilla seems to be going out of their way to kill that too. Apparently over on Chrome, the "new tab" organizer I've been using was sending my personal data to some marketing company or something, and finally got disabled. Everything sucks.

As far as I can tell, it's the only one that has "obliterate my cookies and history when I'm done" as a core option.

it also natively blocks trackers/etc.

Chrome is made by a for-profit company with the intent of making a profit. The entire reason it exists is to drive you towards Google products and to help Google with marketing / ads.

I still use Firefox because it is the only browser that doesn't have incentives to mine me for all my information and sell me ads.

You could always set updates to automatic, but that's just silly.

I jumped on the Chrome train for a bit when it first came out (when the rendering speed difference was easily noticeable), but I've used Firefox before and since (except for Netscape/IE further back).

YES. It was the mf browser. It was such a refreshing browser after years of IE. It changed the game.

Chrome is for those rare moments when I need to get around all of the paranoid-level stuff I've done to Firefox.
