Every time someone spoofs something a pedophile would say, the impersonation is always one of labored breathing and awkward pauses.
"Hey kids.... *deep breathing* you wanna... *deep breathing" ...come over to my apartment for some candy?" Where does that come from? There has to be a specific reference? Is it a movie character? I don't know if it's specifically the origin, but when I think creeps and labored breathing, I think of the trope of a woman answering the phone and only hearing someone breathing heavily on the other end, because he's jerking it hard. Then that would lead to the association between creeps and heavy breathing. Either way, it is certainly based on heavy breathing due to heightened sexual arousal.
