You actually have to love that cast too.

After a re-watch, I have to admit that Sarah Michelle Gellar actually did a phenomanal job mimicking Kristy Swanson's role.

I don't even think I've seen the full movie. I've seen the show three times, though.

Give it a watch on Hulu. It's pretty damn good. The humor is there too.

Its cheesy in the best way for sure. I havent seen it in a decade but I remember enjoying it.

otherway around. She says she burned down her old gym, which is a shout out to the movie. The original pilot episode was vastly different from what we got too IIRC.

the series is a sequel to the original script of the buffy movie
joss whedon was forced to change a bunch and he was not happy with the end result
originally the end of the movie would have had buffy burn down the gym full of vampires

The unaired pilot has a totally different character and actress as willow.

I think the one that actually ran was more or less the same as the rest of the show. Also it had darla and she was hot. Dunno her name but she also played dexters gf for a long while.

they said they replaced willow cause the actress wasnt working out
which may possible be code for she was to chubby

either way the willow we got was much better

The Origin comic combines the script for the original movie with the TV show and Whedon says it's canon. It's pretty decent.
