I always thought it was Lords of the Ring and not Lord of the Rings.

I always thought that because back when i saw the movie, it was mostly focused on that one ring. So i thought it was the story of the multiple lords of the one ring.

There was this guy at my old job who was always behind the curve on everything from the internet. He went around the office for about a month straight trying to blow everyone's mind with Mandela Effect garbage and mostly just got ignored.

I think of it more like some kind of mass hysteria or mass hallucination rather than the alternate universe stuff. It's a mass misremembering of the same thing. It's one thing for people to remember wrong, but it's more interesting when the wrong memories match each other's. Like some kind of thought experiment we're all participating in without realizing it.

The line is "no. I am your father," a response to Luke's line. But saying "no. i am your father" makes no sense out of context without Luke saying "you killed my father" beforehand.

That moment of Star Wars is parodied COUNTLESS times, but it makes no sense saying "no" without the context of Luke saying "you killed my father"

Therefore, when people parody it, and because Luke isn't there, they changed the line to say "luke I am your father."

There---that's why they always say "luke I am your father" in parodies and why you remember it that way. The explanation is simple.

More likely it's always happened coincidentally and the internet made it easier for people to discover other people who misremembered things the same way.

The Mandela has affected me in a very deep and personal way, you see prior to the Mandela Effect I had a 12 inch wiener and afterwards I had the standard 6.5 incher.

Jake from State Farm was white

I had a copy of Shazaam starring Sinbad. When I moved 13 years ago from my apartment to my newly built house I put it in a box of stuff that I didnt need, but didnt want to throw out. I moved everything myself. No one else could have touched that box. A few years ago after hearing that Shazaam didnt exist I opened up that still sealed box and found a copy of Ernest Goes to School instead. I had never watched any Ernest movies.

All my life I thought Dallas was the capital of Texas until like two weeks ago when I looked it up, and found out it was actually Austin. I used to have a puzzle map of the United States as a kid so I knew every state and their capital. I clearly remember seeing the star next to Dallas,. I figured maybe they changed capitals sometime in the last 20 years but nope, it was always Austin.

Yes I'm sure. I know there are a lot of capitals people don't know because half of the U.S. capitals are not what you expect them to be.

The capital of Nevada is Carson City, not Las Vegas.
The capital of Michigan is Lansing, not Detroit.
The capital of Missouri is Jefferson City, not St Louis.
The capital of Washington is Olympia, not Seattle.

And so on. I know there were a few capitals that I forgot but when I remembered them I'm just like "oh yeah that's right." Texas is the only one that completely threw me. Maybe it's because the capital star is also the Dallas Cowboys logo.

Mine was the opposite of that, I could have sworn the capital of Georgia was Augusta.

Not Atlanta .

But whatever.
