Some Native Americans got free homes thanks to the government here in Canada at their reserves and a few trashed the house using the supplies to resell or something.

I dont agree with acting like homeless people are societies fault. I do wish there was something better, but I personally have known many homeless people. Some are alcoholics and drug addicts, and dangerous. I had a homeless guy follow me home and threaten to kill me once. And another homeless guy said hed kill me in jail. So im kinda cynical.

Lets say you setup government subsidized housing for homeless people. Ok cool. Where would you build it? Would you be surprised when it turned into a meth enclave with high crime? Would you want that shit across the street from your wife and kids? There is no easy solution. People say "oh mental health care. Rehab
Blah blah blah." Dont try that shit with me. Lots of those people dont give a flying fuck about anything. Straight up, seen it many times. Start giving out free housing, guess what? I guarantee you would have More homeless people lining up to move in, by choice. Food stamps, housing. They already get subuxone so they can "kick" heroin and shit. Next people will be paying for their cigarettes and internet.

Go visit a 3rd world country and go to the slums. There isn't enough money to give everyone affordable living. Learn wealth.

I think that's the root of the problem. Take California for instance, people are rotting away on the streets cuz they don't have the basic necessities while a few live lavish lifestyles. Rent here in Chicago suburbs is like $1200 and it increases $50 every year. Rent and mortgages should geared towards a percentage of a person's monthly income and everyone should qualify regardless of income.

There are rent geared to income rentals, this is all a sham, they only allow tenants that make around the same income per year to live there and the rent is still something outrages like $1300 for a 2 bedroom apartment.

The problem is simple, all the rich wealthy folk in this country with billions of dollars should have their excess wealth seized and redistributed to the poor, you know, the folks that they got all that wealth to begin with from. Life isn't a game, there are folks having to get limbs, fingers, toes amputated because of these parasites. You win at capitalism, now do the right thing and give back to those in need because for these folks it means eating that day, it means their life, it means their limbs, it means having to go through immeasurable suffering. Enough of the bullcrap rhetoric and be honest with the people, show compassion, show love. What the heck do people need more than a billion dollars if they built their own wealth, you should have no problem making it again since you're so good at capitalism, unless they want to admit the truth which is that they capitalized on a moment in their life that worked out for them AKA they won the lottery.

There isn't enough wealth to distribute like that. Also what if there was no rich people? Society/technology has advanced due to rich people. If rich people distributed wealth and the average person who complains about going into work got a house free would probably work the bare minimum cause they wanna just sit and home and enjoy life. Some would keep working to buy certain materialistic things, but many wouldn't work as hard.

A rich person who wasn't wealthy from the start comes up with an idea and becomes rich shouldn't be expected to help the world.

Seizing a bunch of wealth from the rich just doesn't seem feasible these days. Like you'd probably get a mass exodus of the rich, with assets transferred to foreign banks as quickly as possible, and citizenship changes to avoid the government coming and taking a bunch of their stuff.

Exactly. Many give to hospitals who get certain equipment donated which can help the average person. More so in countries with free health care like Canada. Some donate to other places to better the world. Either way you can lose $1B so fast by donating it cause it only can last so much.

The options for spending $1B alone in a city like NYC is very limited.

Ive been homeless, that shame shit doesnt work on me. I was laughing at your emotional pleas to seize peoples money and give it to the poor like Robin Hood. I wouldnt even mind higher capital gains taxes, flat tax, shit like that. But guys like you i imagine banging on the keyboard with tears streaming down your face as your heart bleeds for every person who has ever felt pain. Just makes me glad im not you. Have you volunteered your time to a shelter or donated any money to the needy lately btw?

Thats cool. One of the toughest guys i ever knew was homeless, this crazy native cat. I mean he was a fucking badass. But horrible when he got drunk.

Im sure there is some middle ground. Like we could agree, some shelters would be better than more bombs and tanks in the middle east. Its just as i said, i know homeless people too. Some of them were totally dangerous, i doubt a civilian would know how to handle that. Thats why they usually give them 2 dollars and get the fucI away. Most people dont wanna live next door to that. Its a problem in my city.

They would be if they're fleeing due to legislation finally passing that would make them pay what is long overdue. The laws can be made retroactive because they made their profits due to the prior corrupt system. The US has no problem doing this with drugs, which are less harmful than these rich parasites.
