Have you read it?

Have you read Douglas Adam's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? I've only read the first one and seen the movie (I didn't like the movie tbh).

I read the books years ago, saw the movie at around the same time when I had two hours to kill before my showing of Revenge of the Sith, listened to the first audio book, the first radio series, and watched the BBC series. They are all varying degrees of ok.

Yes. It's good as a catalyst/springboard for other books that have been written since, but it's overrated as a series.

Pretty much this exactly. It was my first major novel as an adult, but I haven't actually finished the last two books. The first one is the only one I actually really seem to enjoy.

[ I have the radio series, the video series, and the books; the *complete* series falls to the law of diminishing returns. Pro-Tip: Try Adams' Dirk Gently novels. ]

I voted the bottom option in the poll because I forgot this thing existed

I remember not liking books 4/5 nearly as much (or well in general just tending to like them less as they went) so I never even bothered reading the extra

I had the ultimate hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. I got through book 3 and lost interest in book 4. I enjoyed the books up through 3.

I thought the movie was amusing even if it was a bad adaptation.

I read my mom's copy & didn't like it. Probably would have been better if I had listened to it as a radio play (since that's what it was written for) but as a novel it didn't work for me.

I usually like British humor too.
