I justify it by telling myself "At least I play the game".
I bought a Switch for Pokemon and Xenoblade, and I don't even touch Pokemon anymore. Only recently started back up my Switch for Xenoblade. Only gacha game I ever spent money on was Plants vs. Zombies 2. By that point I had already spent over 50 hours playing through the story mode and survival mode and spent $4.99 on some premium plants and other goodies to keep the game fresh, which got me another 10-20 hours of playtime. At that point, I felt $5 was a steal for the amount of total playtime.
