He's a senior at the university and last month made 2 posts to his instagram account where the Office of the Dean of Students detremined his posts were in violation fo the University Reglulations relating to Bias and Hate Crimes and classified as Threats/Intimidation On June 3rd, he shared a photo of 77 y/o David Dorn, a retired captain of the St. Louis Police Dept who was shot dead by a looter while trying to protect his friend's pawn shop. He wrote "Y'all a bunch of hypocrites" venting his frustrations over the lack of outrage over the killing Then he shared a photo fo himself holding an rifle outside a home in Nassau County with the caption "Don't Tread On Me. #198964 USCN" which he claims was to honour the 31st anniversary of the Tienanemen Square massacre He said he made those posts for the love of America and said "The content of both posts are fully by my love for this country fully within the boundaries of law and university code and in no way expressing threatening or hateful thoughts yet the University subjectively and maliciously assumed my intentions as a hate crime and threat" He said he was making personal political statements and said he was "sympathetic" to the movement for racial equality and his posts was to speak out against tyranny and oppression while noting the phrase has been used by various branches of the US Military. Tong said he's a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment right to bear arms and said if students in China had been afforded this right, there'd been fewer casualties in the hands of the chinese state He has since been put on disciplinary probation that banned him from participating in school activities and if he violates it, he could face suspension or even expulsion Tong said the "draconian" punishments ostracized him among his peers and is being treated like a criminal and refused bias training and won't apologize because he has freedom of rights now. His lawyer, Brett Joshpe said the university's orwellian actions are exactly why Trump signed an executive order specifying schools can lose their federal funding for violating free speech Tong who immigrated to America believed America was characterized by law and free speech but that is no longer the case and claims he's being silenced by the "mobs" and subjected to soviet style interrogation.. He told Fox news Laura Ingram "I think they have an issue with anything they disagree with and they want to silence any voice they dont' like and that's really what happened and they silenced me because they don't like what i said" He has since started a Gofundme that has raised more than 55,000 smackers and was featured by the NRA shooting a rifle. I honestly believe most protesters are abiding by the law but then you have the people who use the protests to loot, riot etc which puts a stain on those people who are marching peacefully.
