I'm pretty sure WoW still holds the title of the most playtime for me (roughly 250 days total), which was '04. Everything else that's competing for the title is kind of scattered, and I couldn't say for certain, but I'd guess there's a strong bias toward 2001-2010 because that's when I was a teenager. That was when gaming was cemented as my primary hobby, so I spent a greater percentage of my free time playing, but I also didn't have adult responsibilities to distract me and cut into that free time, the combination of which meant lots of game time.

2011 - 2020 had way too much DLC stuff.

in 2000 - 2010 we saw the beginning of DLC, but it was not in full force.

I've played through Ocarina of Time more than any other game.

But I've put more hours into Runescape (early/mid 2000s release) than any other game.

But I probably spent more time in the 2010s playing games, although most of those games were from the 90s and 00s.

So I dunno.

Why did you start each decade with xxx1?

I'd say the '80s. There are a lot of PC games from that decade that I played a ton and still do to this day.

What is this defined as? If it's pure hours it's either 2000s or 2010s. I have 3000+ hours in Runescape, and STO, and 1000+ hours in Path of Exile, Dota2, Warframe, and CSGO.

*Path of Exile is probably 3000+ hours but I don't have accurate hours played for it.

Sorry. I fear I may have been too vague. Let's say you have a collection of games that you play regularly. I am asking which decade most of those games are from. I did not anticipate the possibility of a person having accumulated an obscenely large amount of play-time for a given game, and having the rest of his or her game collection from a completely different decade.

Hard call.

Most of my most played games were released around '88-89. Since we didn't really buy games on release day back then, and many games I play a lot of has never been released here but was translated (mostly SNES titles) I'll go with '90-2000.

1970s

Bulk of the lot would be in the 90s. RuneScape alone probably takes the cake though as i should have near if not over 20k hours now which would make it the 2000s.

Hard to say. I definitely played a lot of video games from 2002 through 2008/9ish when I finally got a PC capable of playing the more modern games. Getting into World of Warcraft from 2005 through 2012ish also had a major impact on my life, both good and bad. Still, I think after graduating college in 2010 and having both open evenings and weekends after work and Scouting led to me possibly playing even more games compared to my college life.
