It's killing me, it's legitimately killing me, I'm so tired now, my body can't even handle being up for 5 seconds without wanting to faint, even a normal task of feeding the dog is impossible for me, I'm considering crawling through the floor to get to the kitchen,my temperature keeps stable at 99 but it's always either a 3, a 7 or a 9. I worry that even if I were to go to a hospital now there's nothing they can do, whatever the case, I'm tired just so so so tired, CE

Keep your primary physician up to date and take their advice on what you should do. That's all I can really say, I have been lucky enough to avoid it so far and I have no other help I can give.

I'm really scared of getting it because I'm a fair bit overweight and have asthma so I know I'd have a terrible time. What's your height/weight, any pre-existing conditions, if you don't mind sharing?

I thought it was her but it turned out I was wrong because nobody in the house was infected just me meaning that somehow my unlucky ass caught it despite the precautions I took. oh well if this is really how it all ends at least it was just me.

Sorry to hear that man. I got it back in May, and my lungs are still fucked, feels like I'm gonna drop dead some days and going to work stopped being possible.

I had asthma on top of that, so it's been a painful time.

sorry tc

i wish USA had taken this more seriously, wish we had a president who had taken this more seriously. wish we had elected anyone but trump. unfortunately voters put a lunatic in charge of the asylum four years ago and now way too many innocent people are paying for it. i hope you get better soon, but seriously, invest in a pulse oximeter and if you're below 90, go to the hospital.

Werent you the one who has a bunch of other issues? I think I remember saying you should inform your nephrologist but I dont remember what you see them for.

I went through it back in April, and it wasnt nearly as bad as you are describing. It might be time to seek medical attention.

What fucking hellhole states do they charge you for emergency alarms? You already pay for their services via tax funding.

It depends on whether the ambulance that comes to get you is public or private, whether they accept your insurance, and the details of the policy therein. Basically every local situation can different as well.

Here's an old article (2013) talking about ambulance bills:

https://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/05/health/think-the-er-was-expensive-look-at-the-ambulance-bill.html

And another 2016 one:

https://www.consumerreports.org/consumerist/164-per-mile-surprise-ambulance-bills-are-a-growing-problem-difficult-to-avoid/

again, its for a type of shock. its not a magical cure for all covid cases.

the news agencies have been treating this like its an amazing breakthrough, in reality steroids have been used to reduce severe immune responses for a long time.

Interestingly, ambulance rides in Austin are almost never covered by private insurance because all emergencies are handled by the local county EMS, which have special regulations against making "in network" deals with private insurance. Therefore, if you have private insurance in Austin, expect to foot the whole bill for the ambulance ride:

https://www.statesman.com/article/20140413/NEWS/304139721

Edit: it's also worse in other Texas counties, because they have a similar situation but get far less in local tax subsidies.

a couple points to keep in mind.

your body temperature fluctuates throughout the day. 98.6 is not a set in stone normal temperature, its just an average. and many people run body temperatures above or below that average, for example mine averages ab around 97F.

as such, your recorded temp might not really be a high temperature. and either way the threshold temp that they look for, the one that they've been using to gate access to covid tests, is 101F.

point being, dont worry about your temp unless its obviously high. wavering around 100f isn't an issue, just tells you your immune system is working. your other symptoms are the ones to worry about.
