Someone called one of the sweet 60 year old black ladies working at my store the n word, took off their own mask mask and coughed on her. Then the lady (the racist bitch) went to our manager and the manager basically told her she took the wrong tone with the customer.

After she told me her story I told her I was sorry that happened to her and went back in. I heard her mumble "yeah just walk away too", like I wasn't going to help her either.

If I had witnessed that incident there would have been much to say about my tone with the customer. I'm about as much of a dickhead irl as I am on here if I want to be. I talked to my boss (who is a black woman btw so this was awkward) and said that I thought it was a hate crime and should be taken seriously.

Don't know what else to do. There are communities where we let people get away with this shit, those communities are Missouri. I don't want my community to feel like a "safe space" for racists.
