Its been long-rumoured that Microsoft is working on a lower-powered Xbox Series X called Xbox Series X (or Lockhart) but this seems to be the most solid confirmation that weve had.

The same person that leaked the white Xbox Series X controller has now posted the packaging for said controller which confirms support for Xbox Series X, iOS, Windows 10, Android and most importantly, Xbox Series S.

Basically planned to be a 1080p-1440p next gen console.

So is this supposed to be their trump card? I mean what other reason do they have for not showing it this late. Or maybe it is seriously under powered and hope people will buy it over the ps5 when they see the 200-300 price tag.

One X is discontinued. Don't think there'll be much old stock left to mess it up. If people can figure out phones it's not that hard. If it has Series in the name they're good.

Because it's a pointless announcement without the price. Which Sony and Microsoft are still playing chicken over.

They're still waiting for Sony to announce a price because there's a 100% chance they're going to undercut the Digital PS5 model with the Series S.

Also this is definitely earlier but this reminds me of when I found PS4 Controllers in Toys R Us like a month before the PS4 was even released.

This, plus the original Xbone is discontinued so it's just the standard One S, which can just be marketed as Xbox One.

Yeah XSX is 12TF
PS5 is 10TF
XSS is 4TF I believe.

CPU, RAM and SSD will be the same on both XSX and XSS. They're cutting costs with the GPU since it's designed to run games at lower resolutions.

Trust me, I haven't had one for years and I wasn't planning to get one any time soon until it was announced that XSX was going to have no exclusives.

Now I just wanna get a gaming PC for that reason.

In order for me to get a GPU in my region that matches the next gen consoles I will likely need to spend the combined cost of an XSX and a PS5. That's just the GPU. I have a gaming PC now but have been fine with how most games look and play on the Xbox One X if they're enhanced. The performance edge it has over the PS5 should mean multiplats should be good on the XSX since the PS5 will probably be the lead platform for most developers.

I'm basically trading my One X and PS4 for next gen consoles and I'll lose essentially nothing since they're both BC too.

Gaming PC will be great for next gen if you can afford it yeah. Hell if your internet is good enough you can probably play the PS5 exclusives over PS Now too.

I think they all have other than TLOU2 and Ghost of Tsushima which will go on there eventually. They rotate games in and out. Not sure if you can purchase them to stream on PS Now.

Seems like pretty much complete speculation.

I'm guessing if the XSS is actually that strong then it's really only meant for xCloud / TV set top and won't actually run games at all.

Nah the insiders who got the XSX specs right have been saying these Lockhart specs for a long time now. It's just a budget console to get people to sub to Game Pass at a lower hardware cost barrier.

Windows Insider seems to be one of the sources but I've seen is said from a few people now like Tom Warren and Jeff Grubb.
