No. I used to play Fire Emblem Heroes, but then I was buying orbs to try to summon a new hero I wanted. Spent, like, $50 in a 10 minute sitting and didn't even get the character I wanted.

In that moment, I thought how dumb that was of me. The actual things I could've spent $50 on. I realized how exploitative and lame the gatcha model is. It does nothing to make the game more fun or practical, it just manipulates you into spending more and more money on the chance of getting the prize you want.

I uninstalled the game and never looked back.

Good move. Its creepy how that worm creeps into your mind unnoticed.

There are decent games, they're just buried under lots of drivel.

I recommend pascals wager. It's $6, and is a 20 hour long dark souls clone with a full story, voice acting, etc.. It's super fun and has great visuals.

In terms of f2p games, I actually really like dragon raja. I haven't spent a dime on it and am max level and competitive in pvp just fine. Lots of nifty stuff in it. World of kings is solid too, a WoW clone made by the same people.

EVE mobile version just launched today and is the spitting image of the pc version but made for mobile, and it's pretty solid so far.

Any good SRPG recs? That's always been my main focus. Looking for something modern and not a port.

I was so happy that there was a new Final Fantasy Tactics, till I realized it was gacha. It actually played really well, but again, all the gacha stuff turned me off. I also tried the game it was cloned from, Alchemist and the same thing.

Fire Emblem Heroes was actually very generous and I enjoyed it a lot for a month or two, but again, the gacha stuff and wanting XYZ unit turned me off.

I'm just looking for something self contained, even for money, without all the BS. I've had more fun playing Mario Galaxy 1/2 and Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn than any official mobile game.

Kemco is a predominantly mobile developer and some of their games are good enough that they were later ported to PC or console. I've played a lot and they're all incredibly..... Uhh.... Honestly their games are like filling off a checklist of 90s RPG tropes. If you're one of those guys who is like "I just want another Lufia 2" then Kemco has got your back.

Most of their games are the regular JRPG style but there's a few that aren't. Here's one that I own that is pretty good and not expensive.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kemco.wws.ixtna

I really want to stress though their games are even more traditional than modern DQ games. There's basically nothing new or interesting about them. It's like a bunch of devs are stuck on the 90s making SNES games.
