i played part of it back when it released, and i kind of wanted to give it another fair shake, on the off-chance i just got caught up on the hate train, instead of judging it without outside opinion affecting it, ok?

nope, i was right the first time. this game is an actual piece of shit, ok?

like it's not even a bad mass effect game, it's just a bad game even without the history of the other games, ok?

man, i miss bioware. maybe not dead in name, but dead in every other respect, ok?

i don't actually disagree with this. if all you were doing was fighting, it might make a somewhat decent-to-mediocre middling arena shooter, ok?

I actually hate the combat most of all, I hate zipping and flying through the air constantly which is what the game feels like it wants you to do.

Much much much prefer the more slow, tactical aspects of 1-3, they actually feel more like sci-fi gunfights.

There was some down sides to it, but the game was a solid 6/10 I'd say, maybe even a 7 because the combat was really good. It's hard for me to understand people saying it's below 5/10. Yea it had way too much sjw stuff and a couple silly graphical glitches and there were parts of the story that didn't make sense and hurt immersion (like entire pirate colonies set up less than a year after arriving) but I just don't get the response this game got.

I was able to get through the game on the fun I was having with combat. But yeah, rest of the game is fairly pedestrian

I liked ME:A a lot more than I expected to. I feel like it's generally better than most people make it out to be, even if it isn't as good as we'd want/expect an ME game to be. It definitely has flaws, but we'd probably be more inclined to overlook them if our expectations weren't so high (something games like Greedfall and Outer Worlds benefited from to some degree).

I've said for a very long time now, I think people would have been much more forgiving of it if If it was a generic sci-fi game in a new franchise published by someone other than BioWare, rather than being the first game launching an entirely new story arc in the aftermath of three games worth of Shepard and the problems involving the ending of ME3.

It also would have helped if it hadn't be so glitchy and fucked up at launch, which permanently poisoned a lot of people's impressions of it, no matter how much it's been patched or modified since (something that Assassin's Creed Unity and No Man's Sky suffer from as well). I played it almost a year after launch (which is something I recommend to most people - you should never play ANY AAA game at launch, and probably not for a few months after, as they'll pretty much inevitably be completely broken these days), and I really didn't have any meaningful problems with it (as opposed to Outer Worlds, which was still buggy as shit months after launch, which left me feeling a lot colder towards it).

Its one of the best! The characters are very unique and different instead of all being stories.

I just wish it was a full story instead of being like the first part. Its an intro to a story that wont ever be told

yeah the characters were surprisingly good

like at first I didnt like them and they seemed super generic, like I remember the character Liam(I think that was his name) in particular seeming really bland at first but then you talk to him a bit and bring him on a mission or two and realize holy crap they actually gave these characters a ton of depth

its the same problem when they let you use any skill, you're just going to pick the most overpowered and use that for the entire game. FUN!

whats really really cool with Liam is that you can easily see his trajectory. Like he isnt a soldier at all he is all about colonial development and cultural growth, so he could have had a great story when he grows up a bit.

Well there is no need to worry. Mass Effect Trilogy remaster is likely coming this year.

Trilogy remaster?? Nooo that means no andromeda 2
