I like the taste of a lot of craft beers Ales, stouts, porters, pilsners, hefeweissen is my personal favorite...Even mass produced beers that are of good quality like Guinness for example is generally a mass-produced stout (though the Foreign version is the best).

Bud, Miller or Coors? Not so much. But I drink them anyway when they're ice cold enough to numb the taste.

Yeah I drink a ton of it and enjoy the taste, even the cheap domestic ones are good.

I'm not fond of IPA but i'll drink one every now and then. I like lagers, pilsners, ambers, stuff like that.

I think this is why a lot of people say beer is gross, they try something bottom tier like Bud or Coors and think it's ass. There's so many varieties and flavors in beer, I bet anyone can find one they enjoy.

And then you become a nerd about it, and start enjoying stuff that people probably shouldn't enjoy. I think there's one Sierra Nevada brew that tastes like cactus and ashtray, and I love it.

There are some beers that are more palatable than others. I like stouts better, for example.

nah man be honest with yourself: at first you didnt like beer because nobody likes beer when they first have it, its an acquired taste. Dont sit here saying you didnt like it at first because you have some high class taste or some shit like that.

That is exactly what I'm saying. I am, in general, a massive snob for food and drink.

It really wasn't an acquired taste; I still hate all the stuff I hate before. I don't drink to get drunk. I drink for an experience. I would rather go hungry for a day or two than eat low quality food.

There is no single beer taste. Normally if there wasn't a pandemic I would say what someone told me, go to a local brewery and see if they have taste testing. I'm not that big on IPAs, though they have grown on me, but I love Imperial Stouts.

It's fine but I hate to have beer with food though. I know that's a popular thing to do but I never really got it.

Nowadays if I'm drinking alcohol it's almost exclusively beer, but never with a meal at a restaurant or something like that.

The problem with goses and sour beers in general is that they're not usually balanced and the base beer is fucking gross. I remember having so many that were all mouth contorting pucker until you're hit with dirty dish water. IPAs generally suffer from the same problem. A dime a dozen but none of them worth shit.

My rule for any overtly flavored beer, be it IPA, gose, or anything else, is that if the base beer is gross by itself, don't use it for anything else. You can't fix weak or shitty malts with additives.

I think SeaQuench Ale from Dogfish Head was the most widely available sour I liked, but Mikkeler's raspberry Berliner Weisse was very nice. I would recommend some more but I can't think of any. I used to have a spreadsheet of all the beer I had but deleted it when I went to AA lmao.
