Why people care to whine or act bewildered about a games evolution they've never played, or kept up with after the original anime ended over 20 years old ago is beyond me. And it's not like it even came out of nowhere, the dude went through some serious shit. I love how you could even see his attitude change affect his dueling as well. Where as he was always having fun and complimenting his cards and his opponent in duels before, he just went for OTKs constantly and held nothing back in every duel in S4. Even during that friendly doubles tournament to the point no one even wanted to duel with him anymore. --- Regardless of warnings, the future doesn't scare me at all. The rules werent fleshed out because it wasnt supposed to last longer than a chapter. Then it got popular so he brought Kaiba back for an epic rematch. And then it became so popular it took over the entire story lol. Originally it was essentially just war with monsters painted on the cards. I dont think even magic or trap cards made an appearance in the original duel monsters chapter. By the time Duelist Kingdom happened it basically turned into a fantasy role playing game where you used cards instead of figures.
