I used to prefer having physical copies of my games, but due to the whole quarantine/self-isolation thing, I've increasingly been buying more and more digital games.

Physical. Steam and shit is popular now but who knows if that will be the case years from now.. but my discs will still work just fine. I feel the same about video streaming over DVDs, which is why I have such an extensive collection of them.

Discs just based on the principle that they can't fuck with my ownership rights once I've bought it or remove it from being purchasable in the future, but so many games these days revise things with a download patch that's like 99% of the size of the game on day one they're pretty much just glorified dongles most of the time nowadays anyway

Disc copies, but only because I like collecting. When given the opportunity I backup my physical copies and play them digitally anyway.

Digital is far more convenient. Archival is nice for games before the 6th gen, but pointless for the AAA titles that need a day 1 10gb patch anyway.

Depends entirely on the game. For smaller, pick up and play type games like dead cells, digital 100%. For large, completable adventures, physical is preferred.
Also, there's like functionally no difference between physical and digital these days when talking about hard drive usage. Fuck discs. Cartridges for fucking life. I wish they would just ditch discs altogether and go for cards/cartridges instead --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Physical because you at least actually own it. That may change in the future if we get some kind of assurance to a digital product bill or something. There's little worry about Steam ever shutting down in the next thirty years, but plenty of other smaller platforms are being wiped out all the time.

Digital is definitely easier, and it's nice not having to deal with cases and discs/cartridges
