I never thought Arkham Origins was as bad as people acted, glitches aside.

But I can be Nightwing so I don't care what else they do with this game just let me be Nightwing.

The new Suicide Squad game is rumored to be a GaaS with gear and levels too. If that's true then it's weird to reveal them both on the same day

Origins tried to copy and paste the freeflow combat but somehow they screwed it up and the timing is super off for things like counters, and it doesn't flow nearly as well as the Rocksteady games. Just doesn't feel as good. Game had good bosses but it definitely felt like a knockoff Arkham.

I was lowkey hoping this game would have Azrael fill in the Batman role, but this looks like a ton of fun! AO is actually my 2nd favorite Arkham game so I have no problems with the dev. I just hope the gear stuff isn't too involving or complicated.

I really liked the touches they put in the Arkham Origins game like Electrocutioner. Deathstroke was extremely cool and fun to fight. And the entire portion with Firefly was awesome. "What's this? Batspit!?"

Generally agree with folks in this topic - this somehow looks better than Avengers already but as usual I'm extremely wary of gear/stat systems getting slapped on top of core mechanics that don't really ask or benefit from them at all. If Suicide Squad really is yet another Superhero Destiny after this I'm going to be a bit upset, though.

I will say that these types of games seem weird for super heroes. Like they're specific heroes we all know.

I feel it would make more sense of you were just some rando hero you make up and give abilities to yourself and customize your costume, etc. I don't get why I'd want to specially customize my Captain America in a particular way.

Yeah, at a glance, it looks like this isn't following Avengers as much. Might go with the process in terms of loot and stuff, but it looks like it's more story-based and not online-play based.

The brief stuff they showed from Suicide Squad might adhere closer to Avengers, but from the way they described switching off characters live in-game, I'm not going to expect it to be Destiny-like just yet.

Unless they've straight-up come out with those details, I feel it's likely people are just going to paint all of the games the same because they all seem to star 4 characters and are superhero games, and Avengers has already given a lot of details (and a beta).

Yeah this is where I'm at. The early Gotham Knights gameplay doesn't immediately scream "GAAS gear/loot grinding" but who knows. I'm cautiously optimistic on the gameplay and incredibly hyped on the concept, sign me up for Nightwing.

More info is coming out on Suicide Squad, 4 player co-op that can be played single-player, and also an open world? It kind of sounds like Ultimate Alliance but with an open world. I'm a little less hyped for that but we'll see how gameplay looks.

The only thing that kinda bums me out is that the entire city is always available and enemies scale with you apparently. What's the point of a gear system and RPG elements if enemies scale with you?

I guess they can just add more challenging enemies like Spider-Man PS4 did but I think I'd prefer parts of the city slowly being unlocked in a game like this.
