Do I agree with riots? No. However; it's interesting what people will prioritize their anger over. They won't comment on the murder of a black man, but they sure as hell will comment on how terrible the riots are.

Because racial injustice is something that happens to someone else, and a store being burned down affects them.

Sort of like anti-maskers, come to think of it. If it won't protect me, it's worthless - who cares about protecting others?

The disconnect here is that I view someone's business as much more than property. It's their livelihood, an investment of their life savings in many cases, their means of making a living and paying their bills. Their hopes, dreams, goals and desires. It's not just property. No one values property over people. I value people and their livelihoods.

The loss of a life is much more tragic, certainly, but innocent people who had nothing to do with it are losing more than "property."

And as far as white privilege post goes, it only takes a few seconds on Google to find countless stories about business owners of color who had their livelihoods destroyed by white rioters.

It's not helping. This topic isn't stating that it's helping. It's stating that people care more that it's happening over the police shootings that are happening. And one is a direct reaction to the other.

and for the people who arent racist they have the idea that if a cop pulls you over that if you obey all commands nothing will happen.

So they blame the victim for it and think all the rioting is an over reaction. When in reality this is a problem thats been happening for what 100+ years?

Then they bring up MLK but if MLK was alive right now they would be calling him a marxist/communist and complaining that his marches are making them late for work

Many of the people who bring up this talking point I'm sure are doing it in bad faith and really would be against any type of protest regardless.

Most people value their own self interest above everything else and just want to be left alone on such matters.

But nowadays it seems nobody has a choice in this regard. Which is why most people are leaving the citys, the riots, the police violence, and crime.
