like, say, open carrying a gun illegally? Crossing state lines with an illegal gun? Patrolling the streets after curfew?

I don't think those charges will stick. He was being chased by all 3 people he shot. Nowhere in those videos did he go on a shooting spree. He only shot people who were after him, including the one who hit him with a skateboard over his head and the other who had a handgun visibly shown as he approached him.

Again, not if the law itself is broadly worded. There are laws that are put in place all the time with the intention of allowing one thing, but actually open the way for many other things on a technicality, due to the language used being wide reaching, or imprecise.

So, honestly, I'm not sure what you're arguing about it with me for. It's going to be lawyers like that guy advocating for the kid in front of the judge. I'm just deferring to his expertise on the matter.
