I posted back here in February from.CDC quarantine after I was evacuated from China. They told us we didn't need to wear masks, the kept adding in new evacuation groups to our same hotel without extending our quarantine time, they let us and even encouraged us to hang out in groups, they tested absolutely no one (despite my nextdoor neighbor coughing non-stop, no idea how they got out of China) and they constantly suggested that people dying from coronavirus in the US was extremely unlikely. I never took my mask off and had my meals delivered to my door because I knew it would be a disaster. The next time I saw someone else with a mask on was my flight back to Japan. Even the CDC guy in charge of our quarantine didn't wear a mask.
