The military is fucking gross. I was watching twitch the other week and there was a commercial for the army that made it seem like recruits would be dropping into CoD Modern Warfare. Scary that they prey on these kids who don't know any better.

Of course not, but when you market towards children by connecting military service with e-sports and a gaming expo there's everything wrong with it. Just like there's nothing wrong with juuls existing, but when they come out with flavors that are marketed towards children they're in the wrong.

I dont think advertising military service to teenagers as a career option is any worse than college, trade school, etc. It is a valid career path and better than a lot of other options, even if you only do it for four years.

You could say the games glamorize being in the military as being more action packed and exciting than it is, I guess.

I am kind of displeased with the shear amount of ignorance and lack of intelligence displayed in this thread tbh. I know some people on CE lived sheltered lives staying in the basement all day but today is on another level lmao. For example I tell people all the time to join the Army, Navy or Marines to get a good career but GameSpot recruiting for the National Guard in this political environment is messed up on a lot of levels. Ill leave at this; read about the history of the Ottoman Empire dont be ignorant and empower yourselves and strive for more education everyday.
