I'll give some leeway as to what counts as an RPG... so some MOBAs would be at the far streches

WoW for sure. nothing in all of gaming is as good as WoW world PvP.

I looooved diablo 2 pvp. 4v4s with putting together a synergistic team was always sooo fun. 1v1 was kinda rock/paper/scissors which I always like since it promotes diversity in characters and non of the match ups were ever too bad that it was a guaranteed loss.

As an aside, why do people associate Metaprogression with roguelikes now? I mean, Binding of Isaac did it and then lots of others did it...

what's "metaprogression"? gaining resources that exist outside of the gameplay? (like earning cards in Slay the Spire?) or gaining personal knowledge and skill?

It's a concept where your game progression is affected by unlockables which tend to favour knowing how to unlock them in the first place. For example, in a clean Binding of Isaac new game you might opt to intentionally not unlock certain items to get the most advantages --- "Salt cures Everything!"
