And as an added requirement, the game must be a game with some sort of save feature, such as the Zelda games or a password feature, such as the NES Metroid.

Of course! No one wanted to risk NES password systems.

You'd write that crap down and it would be wrong the next day.

Let's see... Delta Rune, DDLC (Does that count? It deletes saves at some parts...), If it counts, the DS game inside of ACNL, Minecraft, Yandere-Simulator DEMO........
That's only the ones I can think of right now, but trust me, there's more

I think only small indie games that can be beaten in 3 hours or less during the first playthrough.

If we include multiple playthroughs/new game+, where you pretty much know the game in and out, then there are a few games where I've completed a run in one sitting. Like Metroid and Resident Evil games.

This, but also some of what Reggie recklessly mentioned

A couple of times with Super Metroid.

Yes, a lot of times.

PC games like Civilization, Master of Magic, and Colonization are good examples that allow for it.

I don't know if it counts, but I did finish Chrono Trigger with all it's ending variables. One of those endings was accomplished right after the beginning so it could be done like in less than 1 hour.

It just occurred to me that this is a somewhat bad question.

Because some early games didn't have a save system of any sort.

For example, Back to the Future (NES) (Why'd I ever play that?) and Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Master System), and other early games lacked any sort of save system.

Yeah, until recently just Mega Man X and Final Fantasy X and SNES games that you basically have to (Lion King, Mickey Mouse)

And recently a ton of games like uncharted, bioshock, quite a few of the 8-12 hour hits on PS3/PS4.

Super Mario World, got *96 in one sitting with no loads. I was worried I'd get to the title screen after and see 95 or something, but nope, *96. that would have been sometime in the 200x's but have no idea specifically.

Took like 8 hours I think?

You could record it and find out where you stand against everyone who has done a speed run of it. Or do it for charity like AwesomeTurtwig...

NES/SNES/Genesis games obviously. A lot of older games can be beat in under an hour. The same kinda holds true for modern 2D platformers.

BTTF was fun , up until that ridicuously hard final level, which I beat after several profanity laced tirades .

As other have said , many games of the NES/SNES era were less than two hours long.

I loved Spiderman: Maximum Carnage , which lasted just a little over an hour.
