Theyve really increased it with the Switch and all it is is a big fuck you to people who bought the game initially

for people who havent played the game, a straight port would suffice, any new content would not be missed

so obviously they add the extra levels to entice people who owned the originals, but charging full price to buy a game a second time, for what is probably a couple hours new content at most, is shitty

in the age of DLC that theyve doubled down on this anti-consumer bullshit really sucks

You don't have to do literally everything in every game. It's okay to not buy this game just to do whatever the fuck Bowser's Fury is.

I disagree, if only because like 6 people own a Wii U so those re-releases are largely a first time experience for the vast majority of the Switch audience.

As one of those 6 people it is kinda annoying for me but whatever.

They usually dont go anywhere near this amount of ports across random series, at least from one main console (vs a handheld system) to another. But you had masses of people complaining that they didnt like the Wii U...but still wanted to play Wii U games. Go figure.

but the thing is nintendo makes great games. So Id love to be able to play a few extra levels in games like

Donkey Kong Country Returns, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Yoshis Wooly World, etc

i just dont want to pay 60 damn dollars again to do so

as a person who didnt play the original, you wouldnt notice the omission of new content, since its all new to you

this is definitely trying to entice second time buyers, like a band putting a new song on their greatest hits album

Yeah it does suck. I own 3D World, Kart 8, Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors, NSMBU, and Wooly World on the Wii U before the Switch was announced, and I''ve never dropped multiple amounts of $60 for a small expansion pack. Nintendo can eat rocks ^-^

Your best bet would be to know someone who owns the Switch port so you can experience the content for yourself.

Actually, considering just how successfully the Switch has been compared to the Wii U, rereleasing the Wii U games as Switch titles makes far too much sense, since it gives them a new opportunity to find an audience.

Remasters with added content has been a thing for ages. Capcom used to be the king of it. Persona 5 just had royal which was a critical and financial success.

If I got a Wii U I'd probably be salty right now. I don't so I'm just happy. But I would be just as happy with a straight port.

Mario Odyssey has sold 18 million copies. More people bought it than bought a Wii U. It's a pretty big difference in scale.
